Many groups or countries have hosted online workshops on the Steps, Traditions and Concepts. Some questions to answer for the Forums:

What challenges did you face if you hosted such a workshop? What worked? What didn’t?
If you’re interested in hosting such an event, what questions do you have for those who have already hosted?

And, when you reply to this topic, please introduce yourself:

What is your name, what country do you represent
How many meetings does your country have?
How many are face-to-face? How many are virtual?

Hi, I am Tina from Germany.
We have 13 face to face meetings in Germany and 1 in Austria, 2 phone meetings, 1 face to face couplesmeeting and 1 phone couplesmeeting, we think about a videocallbased meeting format

Since the pandemie rised up we had several conventions mixed phone and online/videocall. The organization is in the hand of one group like it is for face to face conventions. It worked very well, so that we decided to organize one extra online convention in the year, also after the pandemie. For the first time in June of this year it was very easy. We have been two people, one in the South of Germany and I, living in the North of Germany. We sent a schedule with meeting topics and a suggestion for a text – and asked the community, who wants to lead the meeting, a few weeks before the convention. It worked also very well.

I liked it very much, to take part to other countries conventions. And it would be nice to get more connected. Maybe the members of the forum meet via Videocall or maybe sometimes we have a global conference.

    For now heartly regards
    Tina

    Hey, Tina,
I have some questions for you.
What were the topics or sessions you had for your conventions? How many people helped organize the event? Did you have someone handle the technical portion? How many people attended?

Maybe your answers can help others to create a similar event!

    Hey Robin, hey all,
    thanks for messenging, Robin.
The topics of the conventions are very different, sure. Sometimes we use Slogans or other topics of the program.
Currently we have several conventions in the germanspeaking countries. One three-day face-to-face S-Anon Convention and one one-day S-Anon Online Convention, one three day S-Anon/AS (in Germany for SA) face-to-face Convention.
The organisation of the face-to-face conventions is in the hand of one group or two (S-Anon and AS of the town when possible) for S-Anon/AS Conventions. How many persons help? It depends on how many people are members of the group, sometimes 3, sometimes 12. The Online-Convention is organised by two or three volunteers via video, messenger or telephone call. Before Corona we also had one-day Retreats or Marathons, organised by one group, but open for a greater region or for all, some with translation into English. In the mmoment some pause, others are irreguarly because of the pandemic situation.
For the technical support in S-Anon we have someone who does the website service.
The S-Anon Convention attend usually about 30-35 persons, the S-Anon/AS Convention about 120 to 160, about a third are S-Anons.

It would be very interesting how it works in other countries. How do you organise conventions? How many people are involved? How many attend?
    Have a nice time
