In March 2024, the S-Anon Board of Trustees (BOT) approved the creation of a new standing committee, the Global Coordination Committee (GCC). The GCC had been a sub-committee under the umbrella of the Public Information and Outreach Committee for several years, but with recent growth in the global S-Anon fellowship, the BOT decided to elevate the GCC to a full standing committee to more effectively carry out the purpose of the Board in service to our global community. The GCC’s roots began 10 years ago when the International Service Structure Ad Hoc Committee recommended the BOT form the GCC to aid in the development of a supportive global infrastructure, maintain open lines of communication with the global fellowship, and enhance worldwide unity with the S-Anon groups that form in countries outside North America, defined as the United States and Canada. We will share more specific information about the GCC’s roles and responsibilities in the coming months.
