In January 2022, the S-Anon Board of Trustees (BOT) approved a motion authorizing the World Service Office (WSO) to develop a process to distribute information for Special Meetings that adhere to all S-Anon Twelve Traditions, including Tradition Three. This information was published online in June and can be found under the Special Meetings tab on the Find a Meeting page at www.sanon.org.

To clarify the nature of Special Meetings, the following information was added to the website:

S-Anon Special Meetings focus on recovery from the effects of specific sets of experiences or other special situations or conditions related to sexaholism. They are held as a complement to, not as a replacement for, regular group meetings. Some S-Anon members have found it helpful to also participate in meetings that focus on specific topics common to members’ shared experiences.

The S-Anon Special Meetings posted here are in keeping with all S-Anon Twelve Traditions, and welcome the attendance of all members of S-Anon. However, Special Meetings differ from regular registered group meetings, which focus on recovery topics applicable to all S-Anon members. Our common experience suggests that recovery does not depend on meeting with others who have had the same experiences or circumstances. To list a Special Meeting with the WSO, please complete the Special & Open Meeting Listed Form. The current topics and focuses approved by the BOT for distribution include recovery from the effects of sexaholism from the perspective of: Women, Men, Legal Consequences, Parents of Sex Addicts, Adult Children of Sexaholics, Sexual Avoidance, LGBTQIA+, and Single in Recovery. For any other topics and focuses submitted to the WSO for publishing, the BOT will prioritize a motion for consideration at the next scheduled BOT meeting.
