The Annual Group Verification process started just over a month ago, and we need YOUR help to ensure that every S-Anon group’s information is current and accurate. While the WSO is collaborating with Area Delegates and Regional Trustees to reach out to groups, your involvement can make a significant difference in this process.
Why is this important? Accurate group information is crucial for newcomers seeking support and for the WSO to provide reliable services to all members. Outdated contact details or meeting information can create discouraging barriers for those reaching out for help.
What can you do? At your next meeting, please take a moment to ask if your group’s information has been recently updated with the WSO. While updating the WSO might be assigned to a specific service position within the group, we understand that life happens—members may have changes in availability or service rotation may have occurred. A prompt from you could be the key to ensuring the group’s information is updated. If an update hasn’t been submitted yet, please encourage your group’s WSO Contact to update the group’s information by resubmitting the Group Registration Form as soon as possible.
Remember, this year, all S-Anon groups are required to provide a generic, anonymous email address for publication on the S-Anon website. This makes it easier for newcomers and members to inquire about meeting times, locations, or general questions about the S-Anon program. Even if your meeting details remain unchanged, confirming your group’s information, including the new email requirement, is vital to keeping our records accurate.
Please take a moment to review the current information listed for your group on the Find a Meeting page and ensure that all details, including contact information and access information, are correct.
By working together, we can ensure that everyone who needs support can find it. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to carrying the message of hope and recovery.
